Box Elders & Stink Bugs

Box elders are black with reddish or orange markings on their back. Their body is flattened and an elongated oval shape that is about 1/2" long. Box elders love to eat tree seeds and newly developing leaves, which may result in the discoloration of foliage on your trees. You can temporarily remove them by vacuuming them up and then discarding your vacuum contents immediately afterwards.

Stink bugs do not bite, sting or "eat" your home. However, they can be quite a nuisance. The best way to eliminate them is to treat in the fall (just as the weather begins to change) BEFORE they get indoors. Once inside, there is little we can do. We recommend vacuuming them or simply flushing them.
